Umbria Vacation Rentals at LA VOLPE

TORRE DELLA SAPIENZA is a hillside farming estate, owned by our family for almost two centuries, spread over approximately 100 hectares of land just out of Marsciano, a small town located right at the centre of Umbria region and approximately mid way between Perugia and Todi. Property grounds are covered by fields of cereals, sun flowers, olive and walnut groves, more than 10 hectares wooded land and a secluded pond.

LA VOLPE is an old stone farmhouse we carefully restored between 2004-2006, enjoying a dominant position near the top of the hill, with extended views all around. It's now a comfortable home of approx. 400 square meters on two floors, with 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, accommodating up to 13 people.

Living areas on ground floor include a large entrance hall, double living rooms, study room, dining room, kitchen, a single bedroom and bathroom beside the kitchen, a double bedroom with its own independent entrance and ensuite bathroom. Several French windows provide access to the garden all around and to the patio pergola for dining and sitting outside.

Equipment include 5-burner gas stove, electric oven, 2 refrigerators w/freezer, dishwasher, espresso coffee maker, toaster; vacuum cleaner, washing machine, iron and iron board.

On upper floor, another living room and study room, 5 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms; this floor also has direct access from outside, through terrace and stone staircase. Furniture in the house is solid and comfortable, including antique family pieces as well as local traditional artefacts; browse the photo gallery to have a look.

A land phone line is available for local area calls and a broadband Wi-Fi router is installed in the study room on ground floor (DSL connection, free unlimited usage).

Around the house there is a 4,000 square meters garden area with large lawns, a 12x6 mtr swimming pool, children's playground, shaded car parking places and an additional stone building with tool shed, potting shed, pool changing rooms and storage spaces.

The garden is fenced and access is through an automated gateway. Garden and pool cleaning & maintenance is provided by our local staff. Upon request, we can arrange additional services, such as airport pickup and transfer, car rental, house cleaning service, baby sitting, etc.

LA VOLPE is available for holiday rentals from early May to late October, minimum rental period is 10 nights.
